Whether you are recovering from an injury, wishing to improve your strength and control or simply wanting to feel more connected to your body and mind, Pilates is a fantastic way to do this. It is a form of exercise that is based on the principles of Joseph Pilates and is performed by an instructor, using equipment & small groups. The group based classes are kept to a maximum of only 5 people, this allows for tailored and specific attention to your needs. All instructors are physiotherapists who have extensive clinical experience and knowledge in managing the full range of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries.
Our classes are taught on state of the art clinical Pilates equipment. Rather than being static equipment that just gives you a nice workout, it actually enhances your Pilates experience by offering a variety of movements in different planes of movement with spring loaded resistance. We also have the latest in Reformer technology with a tower which offers yet another level of movement, again with spring loaded resistance.
In our Pilates Collective classes the focus is on learning and mastering the core Pilates principles of breathing, technique & mindfulness. Unlike some other pilates studios where it’s more fitness and cardio based, our approach is to follow the original Joseph Pilates principles in order to guide students towards mastering their own bodies & minds as intended.
We have a range of classes to suit all needs, from beginner to advanced with an emphasis on corrective exercises, mindful movement and body awareness. We also have classes to assist with postural problems and imbalances such as pelvic instability, shoulder impingement, neck pain and lower back pain.
We also have a special class called Pause, which is designed specifically for women experiencing the unique changes of peri-menopause and menopause. This class is a great way to connect with other women at this time and find some lightness, ease and joy in this sometimes challenging time. reformer pilates wollongong
